Language & Translation Settings in Virtual Front Desk

Virtual Front Desk is designed to accommodate a diverse range of visitors by offering built-in translation and language selection capabilities. Whether your facility serves multilingual guests or operates in a non-English speaking region, these tools help ensure a smooth and accessible check-in experience for everyone.

The translation feature is accessible directly from each station interface, giving visitors the flexibility to choose their preferred language on the spot. Administrators also have the option to pre-configure a default language at the station level, streamlining the experience for locations where a specific language is predominantly used.

In addition to station-level settings, language preferences can also be configured for the administrative Dashboard, allowing staff to work in their preferred language as well.

How to Configure Language Settings for Your Station and Dashboard

Virtual Front Desk includes a translation tool located in the top-right corner of each station, allowing visitors to select their preferred language. Alternatively, you can pre-select a default language for the station.

This setting is available at the station level, next to the welcome text editor. For the AI translation to work accurately, be sure to enter your welcome message and button text in English first, then select the language you want to display. This ensures not only a proper translation of your custom text, but also of system messages, pop-ups, and other interface elements.

Additionally, you can set a preferred language for your Dashboard under Settings.

Key Takeaways for Translation & Language Configuration

Virtual Front Desk provides flexible language support both for visitors and administrators. At the station level, visitors can select their preferred language using the built-in translation tool, or a default language can be pre-set by an administrator. For accurate AI-powered translations, it is essential to enter all custom text—such as welcome messages and button labels—in English first before selecting the target display language. This ensures that both your custom content and system-generated interface elements are translated correctly.

Dashboard language preferences can be separately configured under the Settings menu, giving your team a localized administrative experience. Together, these settings make Virtual Front Desk accessible and user-friendly across a wide variety of languages and environments.
